STYLE GURU BIO: Jasmine Gill

Hello all you wonderful Fashionistas/os! I am so very excited to be joining the ranks of CollegeFashionista as a Style Guru this summer. My name is Jasmine Gill and I’m now a fourth year student (senior, if you will) at the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities. I’m working towards a Bachelor’s of Individualized Studies, which has created a multitude of aspirations for me to work towards.

Throughout my time at Minnesota, I’ve really been able to discover a lot about myself and my identity—with fashion and outside of it. I found my niche in student advocacy work, working in my undergraduate student government (Minnesota Student Association) and a mental health organization (Active Minds), attempting to use my voice in helping my peers succeed. It brings me so much joy and empowerment to be a part of something so big, but it has led to a very busy lifestyle, and I’m sure many of you can relate. Between school, these extracurricular organizations and working, cultivating my personal style has become my form of expression and near-therapy.

I tend to stick to picking basic pieces, leaving room to play them up or down depending on my day. Comfort and style are not mutually exclusive, friends! Above you’ll find me wearing a fantastic black romper from Gap. Trust me when I say that this has both style and comfort. For the fun and excitement of my first Fashionista photoshoot, I mixed metals with gorgeous necklaces. The blue and silver hearts are from Tiffany and Co. and the gold and coral combo is from Target. To finish off the outfit I added some RAD Forever 21 sandals. This outfit slayed throughout the day as I went from errands, to this photoshoot, to dinner with a friend, and then a family event. It’s fun, flirty and versatile.

I believe this summer is going to be full of some really amazing things and I’m so thankful that CollegeFashionista gets to be a part of it. Being able to share my love of style, social media and writing in a creative and productive way is fantastic. I hope to interact with you all so soon!
