Growing up as a true ’90s kid ( reppin’ ’94) I got to live through and be pretty obsessed with Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. I like to think this was the start of my career as a Fashionista. Growing up, my twin sister and I would always be compared to the Olsens; I think it was the blonde hair and the, you know… twin thing. I used to hate it as a young girl, but now if someone compared me to Ashley Olsen I would probably cry of happiness. While the childhood blonde hair has faded, my love for fashion lasted with the exception of middle school but let’s be honest, it was middle school.
Fast forwarding past the middle school and high school days to college where I am currently a freshman at the University of South Carolina. With a double major in Business Management and Fashion Merchandising and a double minor in Art Studio and Print Journalism, I am pretty busy with school. This doesn’t stop me from extra-curriculars, shopping and some type of social life. Even with a busy life, one of my main goals is to always look and dress like I am prepared for the day ahead of me. If you don’t look prepared, you probably aren’t. The way to always look like you dressed up is to wear a dress. When people see a girl in a dress they automatically think she didn’t wake up late this morning. Try the smock dress: they are roomy, comfortable and really coming back this year. A great hat is a good way to polish off any outfit, and one of my personal favorite accessories. Every girl needs a bag that every male will call a suitcase, and in my case, this is the tote bag.
