As Michael Kors once said: “clothes are like a good meal, a good movie, great pieces of music.” Hello fashion world, and all my fashion lovers. My name is Alexis Buono, but friends, my parents and two little brothers tend to call me Lex. I hail from the beautiful city of Pittsburgh, which is home to my favorite sports team—the Pittsburgh Penguins. I am a sophomore at Pennsylvania State University. As a Marketing major, I have an eye for creativity, and I have always loved putting together unexpected outfits. My minors include International Business because I plan to travel the world, and Chinese because I love learning new languages.
Fashion has always been a huge part of my life, especially through high school and now in college. Starting a fashion club in high school opened a lot of opportunities for me, and I hope to be walking the streets of NYC as soon as I graduate from college. Recently, I have been in the works of producing a fashion TV series called TrendStater, and I am an ambassador for an online fashion bedding shop called 41Winks. During breaks from school, I bounce back and forth, working at two clothing stores—Banana Republic and Evereve. You can find me spending my entire paycheck on clothes. The first thing I plan on buying once I get my career up and running is a classic black, quilted flap Chanel bag.
My biggest accomplishments include becoming a Sephora VIB Rogue member (the highest level of spending one can reach at Sephora), and a Starbucks gold cardholder. Although Starbucks will always be one of my favorites, I have an obsession with trying new little cafes around town. I like my coffee with a few pumps of vanilla flavoring, and my donuts with frosting and rainbow sprinkles. Italian food and the warm beaches of Florida hold special places in my heart. I have a pet cat named Kitty who weighs about 40 pounds, but I love huskies more than anything.
You can usually find me wearing all black with some subtle pops of color. I would definitely describe my style as edgy, but I love to throw on some floral or leopard from time to time and feel a little girly. If I’m not dressing to impress, you can find me in workout clothes coming from a long run or some weight lifting at the gym. I listen to a wide range of music while on a run or at the gym, but my all time favorites include Justin Bieber, Travis Scott, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Counting Crows and Dj Carnage.
