Style Advice of the Week

Spring is finally in the air! With temperatures reaching to almost 80 degrees in the next couple of weeks, we can say goodbye to Mother Nature’s cruel and unusual punishment—bringing snow to the South was a terrible decision. The days are getting longer and we don’t have to bundle up nearly as much. Although it may not be time for bathing suit season, this weather has put everyone in a great mood. There’s something about the changing of the seasons that gets people exciting about wearing something new.

This Fashionista is wearing my favorite, as well as the perfect winter to spring transitional piece. Her kimono is absolutely amazing! Originally a Japanese traditional garment, the kimono has made its way to the U.S. and I could not be happier. This piece is versatile. It looks cute for a day out shopping, but it will also look great over a swimsuit at the beach. Not to mention that it should be a staple piece for your summer music festival wardrobe. This trend is a way to look effortlessly laid back and stylish.

She completes her outfit with a graphic T-shirt, cut-off shorts, round sunglasses, ripped tights and black booties. These items are a perfect way to transition from the colder temperatures. I am also in love with her tights. If you have had the same experience with tights as I have, they rip the first time you wear them. It’s time to just embrace it. The runs in her tights add a little grunge to her ensemble. When paired with the feminine kimono, it gives her outfit a perfect contrasted look.

This week I urge you to break out the kimono! If you don’t have one, this will give you an excuse to go shopping. This piece is not only great right now, but will also become a must-have piece in every Fashionista’s summer closet.
