STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Fashionably Floppy

February 22nd, 2016 at 2:06am

Have you been trying to elevate your style, but are just not sure how to go about it? If you’re anything like me you probably have been looking through Nordstrom, Brandy Melville and Steve Madden’s websites hoping to find something that will make you stand out on campus. Well, this Fashionista knew just what to do in order to make heads turn; she wore an amazing floppy hat.

Now most people are afraid to wear floppy hats because they are large and do draw attention, but to be fair, you are reading this article in order to elevate your style. It is time to take risks and let people notice you for your fashionable self. The great thing about hats is that they draw a certain mystery to the woman underneath them. In order to pull off a memorable outfit you need to make people question what you are wearing, or in this case, question who is wearing it.

This fierce Fashionista definitely caught my eye while walking across campus. Of course she wore this great black floppy hat, but the rest of her outfit did not go unnoticed. So how did she pull off this powerful look? She paired her hat with a gray wool coat in a rectangular silhouette, a simple black dress and tights, a patterned blanket scarf and effortless black booties. This look is perfect for the winter season because it consists of many fun layers that add texture to the outfit, but they will also keep you warm walking to class.

I hope you take the advice of this fabulous Fashionista and rock a floppy hat sometime this semester. It will definitely help elevate your sense of style with just one simple accessory.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “My black floppy hat is my go-to piece in the wintertime because it is versatile. It is and fashionable and keeps me warm.”
