STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Dress for the Winter

During the winter season, I often find myself daydreaming about warm summer days. Although I love the layering aspect of cooler weather, I also have to admit that I love pieces that are delicate, breezy and made to be worn in the sun.

A dress may seem unconventional in the winter, but this Fashionista proves that it can be done. Not only has she styled her dress in a feminine manner, but she has also managed to make her outfit weather-appropriate. Her dress has a trapeze silhouette and is both fluid and minimalist. While the soft beige is a tasteful change from white, it also complements her skin tone. Overall, the dress is a luxurious piece that she has effortlessly carried over into the winter.

To ensure that her entire outfit is inline with the current season, this Fashionista has added a cropped leather jacket and tapestry scarf on top of the dress. Her warm-toned scarf is drapey and soft and further instills a sense of femininity. The color of her lipstick also works to emphasize the shades in her scarf. She completes her outfit with a black clutch and knee high socks. The socks will surely keep her warm in the cold weather and even add some flair to her look.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Textures. In the winter we are all about softness and warmth, which means that other fabrics that do not fall into either of those categories are often forgotten about. Try something new by incorporating different textures into your winter outfits.”
