STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Tighten Up

Style Advice of the Week

Books are purchased, study rooms are filled and essays are being written; winter quarter has begun! Temperatures in Denver have plummeted and University of Denver students are back in the swing of things.

Skirts and dresses are in almost every Fashionista’s wardrobe throughout the world but they get a little difficult to wear during this time of year. There is one way to prevent frigid legs when it comes to wearing a skirt or a dress — tights! They are sure to warm you up and give your outfit a finishing touch. There are an infinite number of colors to choose from to complement any piece of clothing. Here are some basic Black Shear Tights from Urban Outfitters. (Check out the rest of Urban Outfitters selection for some unique pairs of tights)! Black, especially shear, goes well with almost any color.

If you want to make your wardrobe a little edgier, try some patterned tights. This Fashionista took advantage of this and accessorized her dress with checkered black tights. You can find a similar pair at Forever 21. If you are deciding between patterned and solid tights, opt for the pair that coordinates best with your outfit. If you have any type of pattern in the rest of your outfit, or have multiple accessories, stick with solid tights. If you’re wearing a few solid colors in your outfit, feel free to spruce it up with some patterned tights. Tights are also great with any type of heels. I actually prefer them instead of going barefoot because they give my foot a little more comfort in the shoe. Regardless, keep warm for the rest of the winter season with tights!
