STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: All Wrapped Up

Style Advice of the Week

Even though winter seems to be dragging on, truth be told I’ve been excited to break out all my cold weather accessories — especially scarves! A scarf is a vital accessory for the chilly weather. They are toasty, cozy and have the ability to dress any outfit up or down.

Circle scarves and infinity scarves are among the easiest to wear and are great for the extra chilly months. I love this circle scarf and a bonus is it comes in plenty of colors. Another choice is the knitted scarf. They are classic accessories, but pretty much anyone has at least one in their closet. The soft and chunky fabric can keep any ensemble warm and there are so many colors and patterns, you’ll never go wrong. This ASOS version of a chunky knit adds a neon pop of color to any ensemble. Faux fur scarves are a great fashion forward alternative to the conventional scarves. A sophisticated and unusual option, a faux fur like this from Halogen adds plenty of glam to any outfit.

Scarves are another item that can go seamlessly with any outfit. They look great with jeans and T-shirts or even thrown over an evening dress and jacket.

Another fun tip is to mix and match. Try two contrasting colored scarves in similar textures and twist together. The result is original, fun and of course warm. This week’s Fashionista paired a thick, raw-edged scarf with a puffy vest. Dark denim and studded brown boots complete the college-chic ensemble. I loved the vibrant purple, which spiced up a neutral color palette.

Fashionistas, be sure to wrap up this season with your cutest and comfiest scarves. They’re the best thing to cuddle up with on a cold morning on your way to class. Try an unexpected color or texture and stand out from the crowd while still keeping snug and warm!
