STYLE GURU BIO: Brittany Fleming

Hey there! My name is Brittany Fleming. I am a sophomore at Kent State University, studying fashion merchandising and minoring in marketing and entrepreneurship. I have been interested in fashion for my entire life. You could even say it is in my blood!   Photography and writing are other passions of mine, so I am super excited to combine them with fashion by writing for CollegeFashionista.

One of the reasons I love fashion so much is because of how big of an influence people have in setting trends. You can look on the streets of any fashion week and see trends that will be popular in seasons to come. With that being said, I do not think you have to follow trends to have style because everyone is their own person. Therefore, they can be inspired by anything. I would say my style ranges from preppy, to glam, to ’90s chic! My style inspiration comes from all over: whether it is a cool building, a flower garden or even taking a look from someone else and making it my own.

For this look, I took a black blouse that tied at the neck and paired it with a pair of high-waisted boyfriend jeans (my favorite)! To make my look a little more glam, I threw on a light pink, faux-fur vest. I accessorized with black strappy flats and a nude bag. Neutral accessories are my go-to. I usually splurge a little more on items like bags, shoes and jewelry because I wear them so much, but I buy them in neutral colors to get the most use out of them! It can be just as sunny in the winter as it is in the summer, so I borrowed my best friend’s edgy round-framed sunglasses (because that is what friends are for)!

This is one of my favorite looks and is perfect for the warmer winter days. I hope you enjoy this look just as much as I do!
