Hi I'm Morgan and I'm currently a sophomore at Mount Holyoke College, a small all-women's liberal arts school in western Massachusetts. Although I love the confidence that an all-women's education empowers me with, I do acknowledge the lack of inspiration that many of my peers face when getting dressed in the morning. Sweatpants are a daily occurrence for many Mohos, but that doesn't have to be the reality. I'm hoping that through my weekly posts, I can inspire my classmates to spend a few extra minutes each morning to put together a thoughtful outfit that makes a statement. Fashion is a reflection of our individual personalities. I take care to wear outfits that are professional, cute, and unique because that is the image of myself that I choose to present to the world. You never know who you are going to meet or what opportunities will emerge. I live each day as if something amazing could happen; therefore, I need to be prepared and always dress the part.
I love wearing pieces that take basic trends and put a unique and different spin on them. I love brands like Free People, Alice + Olivia, and Diane von Furstenberg because the at interesting qualities to otherwise ordinary trends through striking patterns, interesting cut-outs, or alterations in shape and style. I embrace color, especially red, mustard, and jewel tones because the create an amazing contrast with my dark hair. Currently I am donning tights on a nearly daily basis. Just because it is winter and the New England snows are beginning to become more frequent does not mean that dresses and tunics should be shunned to the "summer clothes" piles. I am also loving my booties this season, especially when I jazz them up with a contrasting pair of socks. My fashion inspirations include Carrie Bradshaw, Blair Waldorf, and Serena van der Woodsen.
