Hi, everyone! My name is Quinn and I am a junior at Santa Clara University where I am pursuing an English major and a double minor in public health science and economics. This upcoming fall semester, I will be studying abroad in Rome, Italy. So you all will be keeping up with me as I eat, dance and spend my way through Europe.
I have a hard time defining my style with a few words because, like many others, I find that it is constantly changing. I asked my mother what words matched my style (because she’s always right) and she said, “I have no idea; maybe understated, classy and a little bit, no, a lot forward thinking.” It wasn’t as helpful as I thought it would be, but with that in mind I would say that my style is eclectic. It is eclectic in every aspect except color. Anyone who knows me knows that the color of my clothes rarely stray from black, white, green and blue. But trust me, I’m working on it.
Fashion has always had a place in my life. It is, though sometimes an abstract idea or term, a defining piece of my identity. It is an interest, a hobby, a past time and an avenue of self-expression. Even for those who don’t have an interest in fashion, each and every person gets up each morning and gets dressed. They choose their own outfits based on what they’re doing for the day and how they’re feeling, both emotionally and physically. Sometimes, it can even define who they are as a person. Fashion is becoming a voice for many people, including myself, and I am excited for you all to hear what I have to say.
