Hello, darlings! I’m excited to be back for my second semester with CollegeFashionista. For those of you who are new to my posts, I am a student at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. I’m working towards a business administration degree with a concentration in marketing, and am also minoring in German. This is my first year in college and I must say it’s been an incredible experience, full of new friends and fun in the city.

If you ask me for style advice, you’ll likely hear the phrases “polka dots” and “red lipstick.” This probably isn’t surprising if you take a look at my outfit of choice: a powder blue cable knit sweater with a striped overall dress, polka dot tights, and red combat boots. Major accessories include a Shrinky Dinks bracelet and of course, cranberry red lipstick. This is one of my favorite outfits and I sport it as often as I can during the colder months.

My obsession with creative outfits and their ability to boost a person’s confidence or mood made the prospect of being an official Style Guru incredibly appealing to me. Sure, I wanted to showcase people’s style through pictures and words, but the best part about working with CollgeFashionista has been seeing the look of pride on people’s faces when I approach them and compliment their looks. Someone’s style does not end on the outside. It is a reflection of the wearer. To be told that someone’s form of self-expression is appreciated and enjoyed by someone else is enough to brighten their entire day. Being able to produce that reaction of delight when I ask to snap a photo of an outfit is a great feeling, and I certainly look forward to continuing this internship and sharing more stylish Fashionistas with you all this semester!
