STYLE GURU BIO: Cindy Nguyen

Hey hey! I’m Cindy and I’m back after a few semesters off. This is my second semester as a Style Guru and I am so excited to be back—really have been missing the Style Guru Gang lately.

I’m wrapping up my last semester studying advertising and integrated marketing communications at Pace University. Nothing else is better than having New York City as your campus and taking classes in a skyscraper! This month marks the start of my fourth year living in the city and I still have pinch me moments when I walk down the graffiti streaked blocks of East Village or Brooklyn. This city constantly pushes and inspires me to be better, both personally and professionally.

When I’m not interning or in classes, you can find me glued to my desk watching The Bachelor franchise on repeat. If you are walking in the Lower East Side and you hear a twenty-something crying from her walk-up apartment, don’t fret! It’s me watching Bachelor in Paradise because it just hits me in all the right places. During the off-seasons, I’m sketching quirky, fashion greeting cards in Central Park or waiting in long lines for designer sample sales.

Before I bring up that crazy love triangle in Bachelor in Paradise right now, I’ll get into my personal style. I won’t try to hide my love for off-the-shoulder tops because they’ve become a part of my summertime uniform at my internship. Despite how impractical they are when you try to do anything with your arms since they just slide up, I love how they show so much personality. Ballet flats are my favorite fashion accessories of all time—think ballerina off duty. If it wasn’t already obvious, black is my go-to color of choice when it comes to getting my outfits together. Cross-body bags, like my classic Chanel, just pull all elements of the outfit together!

I’m really looking forward to giving you a tour of the fashion-centric campus of New York City, I mean Pace University! Check back every month if you love to get fashionably inspired.
