STYLE GURU BIO: Abbie Dobbertin

August 31st, 2015 at 2:00am

Well hello there, fashionable people! I’m Abbie— a trend-chasing girl in disbelief that she’s already a senior at the University of Pittsburgh. This is my second semester as a Style Guru and I am beyond excited to see what fall fashions I encounter this semester on campus!

I have loved every second of being apart of the CollegeFashionista team thus far. I have come to truly love the chase of spotting that perfect stylish person on campus for my article every week, as well as getting to show the world my own personal looks. However, my favorite part about this internship is being a part of an organization with so many people who are just as passionate about fashion as I am. My fellow Style Gurus inspire me on a daily basis. There is no better place to turn than this amazing site to keep up on the latest trends. There are also no better people out there to insta-stalk than some Style Gurus (seriously—major feed envy here).

Being a Style Guru has challenged me in more ways than one. It has forced me to become a more dynamic writer, hone in on my photography skills, overcome my fear of approaching strangers and wake up at the crack of dawn to meet my deadlines. I wouldn’t trade any of these hardships for the world, as this internship has led to me not only discovering my love of writing, but my love for fashion has flourished more than I ever knew possible. These realizations have only confirmed the fact that come graduation (a time approaching faster than ever), I want to pursue a career in the fashion and lifestyle industry.

I am ecstatic that fall is finally here. It is undoubtedly my favorite season for styling. Layers, leather and knits—enough said. By now you’re accustomed to seeing me in bohemian styles, like the lace-up blouse, suede button-down skirt and studded block heel sandals featured in this look. As with the changing of the leaves, you can expect my style to become progressively edgier as the temperatures drop. Think distressed denim, dark burgundy stained lips and my new favorite piece in my wardrobe— a moto-style leather jacket.

As I begin my transition from college to the real world through this next year, I am also transitioning my style. My wardrobe is slowly but surely evolving to become more polished and sophisticated for the post-grad young adulthood life. I can’t wait to bring my readers on this fashion journey with me!

Thanks for taking the time to learn a little bit about me. Don’t forget to follow me on social media to be the first to know when a new article is up and get some behind-the-scene looks at my shoots (and my entire life for that matter)! Also, be sure to take a look at my previous STYLE GUUR BIO to learn about my hobbies and where my love for fashion started. Here’s to a fashionable semester for all!
