STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: White Out

September 29th, 2015 at 2:00am

The monochromatic trend is popular from what I can tell. You cannot go wrong with black and white. Everyone has at least a wardrobe that is monochromatic. Worn on the runway and on the streets, this trend will always be a favorite. However, there is another trend that I also love. I personally believe all-white outfits can be worn for any occasion. White is just a timeless shade but can be worn to look clean, simple and fresh.

Check out this Fashionista! It was pretty easy when I was looking for some fashion inspiration. I was sitting in philosophy class and suddenly this girl’s style caught my eye.

With fall just around the corner, everyone is getting ready to pull out his or her boots, flannels and cardigans. We have to take advantage of the last bit of summer sun and light colored clothing. But who says you can’t wear light colored clothing in the fall? In the final days of the hot weather, this Fashionista shows us one of her summer outfits as she transitions from summer to fall.

This Fashionista is wearing a simple all-white outfit with a long baby blue vest. Christian Dior points out in one of his runway collections that a patterned fabric or adding a little color makes the all-white outfit look abstract and different. Accessories are a great way to add to an outfit. This Fashionista is wearing a simple necklace and rings. This still makes the outfit look simple and clean. To elongate her body, she wore a long baby blue vest and black platform heels. She is strutting the college campus and is showing us it is okay to wear platform heels while being studious in classes.

Her entire outfit is dressy and comfy but still appropriate for school. Her light color scheme fits the perfect weather. She is definitely making use of her summer clothes before she brings out the fall outfits.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “For longer or draped clothes, it is nice to wear heels to balance length and not be overwhelmed by the outfit.”
