One of my favorite things to do during the holiday season is listen to Christmas music. There's not a moment between walking to class or studying for finals that Christmas music isn't flowing from my iPod. It's a little hard to get in the holiday spirit or enjoy my favorite tunes like “Baby It's Cold Outside” though, when the weather outside is anything but frightful.
This past summer was a sweltering one and the warmer temperatures seem to have made their way slightly into winter. This past week has been especially nice, with it even nearing around seventy degrees during the first few days of December. I feel like I can finally understand what it would be like to go to school in California or Florida.
This Fashionisto caught my eye with both his weather and seasonally appropriate outfit. If my past posts for CollegeFashionista were like a college course, one thing that would definitely be on the final is the button-up. I feel like I have preached the powers of the button-up in almost every one of my articles. It should be no surprise then that I love this Fashionisto's button-up. The bright red color with green and black accents makes it festive and a great option for all of those holiday parties you have coming up. This Fashionisto bunched his sleeves up on this warmer day, but his shirt could easily be layered under a sweater or open jacket for a pop of color on a colder day. This Fashionisto tucked his shirt into his gray chinos with a belt that matches his shoes. It's refreshing to see a Fashionisto choose something other than jeans for pants. Chinos are a great option because they are both stylish and comfortable. They also come in a variety of colors to match any ensemble.
Whether the weather is warm or cool, follow this Fashionisto's example and choose a colorful button-up. Add a jacket for colder weather and tuck it into a pair of chinos for a fashionable yet comfortable look. With an outfit like this, you'll ace any weather situation and your finals too!
Hint: Tucking in your shirt is a clean and preppy touch to any outfit. Make sure to follow this Fashionisto's example and fashion rules by matching your belt to your shoes. This means that if you're wearing a brown belt, choose brown shoes. The same is true for a black belt.
