ALL IN THE DETAILS: Red, White and Shoes

June 25th, 2015 at 2:00am

Let’s face it, shoes can make or break an outfit. As editor-at-large for Vogue Japan, Anna Dello Russo once said, “I can be naked as long as long as I am wearing the right pair of shoes.” They are ultimately the finishing piece of an outfit and can help determine the look the Fashionista/Fashionisto is going for. For a woman, heels and dressy sandals make an outfit seem more elegant and dressy than if she were to wear flip flops. It is basically the same for a man. Converse and Vans tend to give a more casual, street style look than loafers and Sperry Top-Siders.

In this Fashionisto’s casual outfit, it truly is all in the details. He starts with a pair of jean shorts and Chicago Bulls shirt, creating a great outfit to begin with. Now, we move on to the finishing pieces- the accessories. White Converse Classics are definitely a trend right now among college men and women and, as Style Guru, I must say that this is a trend that should stay. I am loving every minute of this street style trend, mainly because I feel that the crisp shade of white is the perfect color to pair with anything when going for a casual look.

However, shoes are only a small part of completing a look. Coming in third to the actual outfit and shoes, I feel that accessories are an important aspect, as well. This Fashionisto used black sunglasses, a silver nose ring and a brown, wolf bracelet to form a uniform and cohesive look.

How To: Loving this new trend of wearing white Converse with everything, but don’t really know where to start? Dressing casual and staying on top of the trends is really very simple. A pair of denim shorts (in a men or women’s style, you decide the length of them), simple tank top and a bracelet or two can create a casual, yet stylist outfit using this trend.
