ACCESSORIES REPORT: Say Yes To Leather

Accessories Report

What’s my favorite part of winter, you ask? Oh, let me tell you. Besides my obsession with shoes, I’m a sucker for a nice jacket. Although it’s frigid out (I think State College’s high this week was 19 degrees), jackets have a way of turning any drab outfit to fabulous. It’s hard to stay warm and still look good in this weather, especially when you have to run across campus to get to class on time. Yet, the extra effort with the right jacket goes a long way. In my opinion, there is nothing sexier than a fitted leather jacket. Stylish, comfortable and always in season, leather has a way of lasting through the decades. Leather can be dressed up or down, ranging from classic punk to urban chic and this Penn State Fashionista found a way to combine it all.

With her classic red lip and hip, red beanie, this Fashionista was turning heads walking on campus. This effortless, yet dramatic look was refreshing to see in this freezing cold weather where I was surprised students were even leaving their apartments. I adored her combination of grey-scale tones with bright hints of red with her lips, beanie and, of course, super comfortable flannel. It made for an excellent combination of colors and defiantly made her pop. The cropped gray leather jacket was a great fit, and allowed her long flannel to be showed off. Grungy and feminine, this look combined two of my favorite styles. She still kept her tomboy edge with her red flannel and beanie; but added just the right amount of girly without over doing it.

In my opinion, a nice leather jacket is a must own. They are great for every occasion and it’s certainly worth it to pay a little extra for something that will last. This Fashionista found her cropped jacket at Macy’s on a splurge buy and she said it was more than worth it. To add to this bad girl look, she added a pair of knee high Madden Girl Pinup Leather Boots that, in my opinion, really completed this perfect look.
