ACCESSORIES REPORT: Denim Never Dies

Accessories Report

Denim made a huge comeback this year. Usually denim is associated with bad ’90s fashion and covered with old band patches or bedazzled to an extreme. Luckily for us fashion lovers, denim is making a huge comeback. You’re still able to deck your denim jackets out with studs, spikes or patches to customize it for you or go for the more similar plain look.

Denim jackets are incredibly flexible when it comes to weather as well. With layers, denim is great on those cold winter days, however, with a fun sundress it’s great for those sunny spring days when there is a bit of a breeze. Best part is that denim has lived through the ages. You can literally go to your parent’s attic and find years and years worth of denim pieces — just maybe avoid those dreadful long denim skirts.

Probably one of my favorite parts of denim is the ability to dress it up or down. Actually, that’s one of my favorite aspects of any good piece. This Fashionista rocked a super casual look on campus with a pair of sweatpants, Nikes and a beautiful Michael Kors scarf. However, put on a tight black leather dress, some tights and a pair of heels paired with this denim jacket and it’s a whole new look for a great night out. This Fashionista found her jacket on Zara — an amazing website every Fashionista should be addicted to if they aren’t already.

Denim jackets can literally be found anywhere — from attics to high fashion stores to your local thrift shop. Don’t be afraid to try out different decades of denim and different styled jackets. It never hurts to add more to your wardrobe.

Spotted: Jourdan Dunn rocked a rolled up jean denim jacket behind the scenes at the Jean Paul Gaultier Couture show.
