When Did The Skater Become a Fashionista?

Third-wave athleisure? Second-wave street culture? The jury’s still out on what to call it, but one thing is clear: skateboard culture has fully infiltrated the fashion front. Whether you’ve been skateboarding for years or just bought your first pair of Vans, we can all agree that this a look to cop.

Brands like Stüssy and Supreme have reached levels of cult following, while high-end street label Vetements is giving over the top graphics a distinct place in Paris Fashion Week. Though some of us gravitate towards flat sneakers and destroyed jeans as a laid-back statement, fashion has left the kids at the skate park saying, “But do you even skate, bro?”

Skateboard in hand or not, with these styling tips you’ll be ready to nail this look. Before too long, you might even hear yourself saying “chill” and “sick” on a regular basis. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
