WHAT TO WEAR: Workout

After the last burger is off the grill and everyone has left the beach, you know that Memorial Day Weekend has officially, and unfortunately, come to a close. And with that, the gym is packed on Tuesday morning. In the last few years, activewear has gone from a trend to a full-fledged fashion staple. It is a look that is both comfortable and more appropriate for day-to-day life than sweatpants (which, let’s be real, is all we really want to be wearing). This Fashionista did a great job creating the perfect functional yet fashionable outfit for a workout. Whether you’re going to your 9:00 a.m. spin class or hitting up the gym after work, there’s more to workout wear than gym shorts and T-shirts. Yes, it is possible to still show off your personal style at the gym.

The classic black legging. They are an absolute must in every girl’s wardrobe. Here, they are used as a basic piece so that the rest of the colorful look can be the main focus. I think that bright, fun colors are the best way to go when you’re not in the mood to spend time in the gym or going on a run. They boost your mood and make you feel better about yourself. In this case, a fun neon tank under a super cute drapey top adds some flair, while some bright sneakers top off this look with a great pop of color. Simple jewelry, pretty and simple stud earrings and of course some water for your workout, and your good to go!

One Simple Change: This Fashionista’s flattering and neutral top is a piece that I’ve seen in several stores. It’s comfy, cute and not at all limited to the workout category. By swapping out leggings for a pair of light wash, or even white jeans, and her sneakers for a classic pair of sandals, you’ve transformed this look form gym-ready to class-ready!
