WHAT TO WEAR: Workout

When we Fashionistas/os plan gym time, we look forward to putting on that comfy gear to get a fulfilling workout. According to Elle Woods, “exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy…” and by the end of that movie, we know happy people don’t kill their husbands. But who’s to say we can’t rock that feel good, workout-chic all the time? Trendy activewear is on the rise in the everyday street style here on Temple University’s campus whether it be skipping from class to class, chilling at a local café or studying at the library. To any busy college student, this is the perfect excuse to dress comfortably on those stressful days yet still look as fabulous as always!

Ready for a long day of classes and meetings, this Fashionista is “sporting” a chic but comfy outfit that captures this rapidly growing trend. Converse sneakers are quite possibly what started the sporty trend back in the ‘70s. The shoes became extremely popular among celebrities and the young generation rather than just athletes. After the funk era, they’ve been popular among every generation since and now seem to be a trend that passes the test of time! The adidas track pants this Fashionista is wearing, just like the Converse, are another reoccurring trend. Because of celebrities like Sporty Spice from the Spice Girls, these classic bottoms prove you can be a fab pop star with a kick like David Beckham (even though he fell for Posh Spice). Paired with these iconic pieces are a graphic tank top and a jumper, perfect this unpredictable, pre-fall weather! This Fashionista’s outfit screams “I could go to the gym at any minute and look fabulous doing it!”

One Simple Change: Want to go out for a night on the town but feel too dressed down for dinner or a movie? Try switching out workout pants for a skirt. Whether it be mini or maxi length, a skirt will only add to a chic, but sporty outfit and prepare you for whatever adventure the night brings!
