WHAT TO WEAR: Workout

Summer is on the way! This means that it’s time to start working out and getting that summer body you’ve been waiting all winter for. We all want to look our best during these months, and that means also looking good when heading to the gym. What should you wear to remain on track with the spring 2015 trends? This Fashionisto is on his way to instruct a yoga class in a basic, comfortable outfit.

I admired this outfit because it’s very simple. Working as a stylist for Club Monaco, I have learned to not only appreciate but love minimalist pieces. With the blue tank top, black shorts and flip flops, he kept his look polished but easy. He also carries his embroidered backpack to elevate this look into a more bohemian, hipster trend. The backpack also gives off earthy energies, which makes this look connect to his yoga ideals. This look also inspired me because it is a unisex trend that girls can also take on in their own way.

I believe that the key to finding the best workout apparel is to keep it effortless. It is important to not only feel good while working out but to feel comfort within the garments you have chosen. This idea also makes it essential to pick out garment pieces with quality fabrics that can withstand a good, strong workout.

One Simple Change: At another time of the year, we are beginning to face are finals (sigh). A quick and easy way to make this look finals-appropriate would be to throw on a comfortable pair of tennis shoes and carry along a zip-up jacket just in case your exam room is a little chilly. This transition also makes it easy to go to the gym before or after you take your finals.
