What to Wear

With beach and crop top season arriving after a brutal winter of hibernation, there has seriously never been a better time to get in shape. Whether you’re hitting the gym, going for a run outside or attending a nightly yoga class, I always say that there is no better motivation for a good workout than a good outfit to do it in. I was standing next to this week’s Fashionista in line for my post-gym, pre-class Starbucks and I knew she had the same motto.

While color is a big trend in workout attire, I always like to keep it simple. Pairing black leggings with an athletic tank top and a solid running jacket is always my go-to. Not only is black slimming, but it gives off a serious vibe that will carry over into your workout. A simple zip-up like this one is perfect for throwing on and off as you get sweaty and adds some nice layering to your gym getup.

This runner didn’t leave her bright kicks at home though and brought some shine to the outfit with her shoes. Investing in a good pair of running shoes is a must for beach bod season and this Fashionista showed exactly why. From running around doing errands to biking around getting in shape to attending a sports game outside, they’re super versatile in their trendiness. Some bright Nikes in your favorite color can bring some excitement to any early morning workout.

One Simple Change: Taking a page out of the same book as this Fashionista and myself and headed somewhere right after your workout? Switching your plain leggings out for some patterned ones and throwing a loose fitted yoga T-shirt over your tank make a perfect pair for the farmer’s market, Starbucks or a class.
