Winter can be a fun little game for some Fashionistas and Fashionistos. Being one of those few people with a love for winter, the oddly cold temperatures, snow and of course the fashion that comes with it, it only feels right for me to create the rules for a Winter Game of Fashion. Stay tuned to read about some quick tips and rules revealed to successfully partake in and complete the game.
Rule one: wear as many layers as possible. Winter is a ideal time and one of the only times of the year that you can go into your closet, choose all of your favorites and find a unique look where they all work. Rule two: be sure that your layers somewhat coordinate, which I am sure for most people is self-explanatory. Rule three, and the final rule: have fun with Winter Game of Fashion! Though everything in your body may tell you to, don’t shy away from winter’s intimidating below zero temperatures. This Fashionista took winter on and surely won this game by perfecting her layering techniques and skills.
This Fashionista took a modern spin on ’90s fashion and wore her flannel around her waist. She wore the flannel so well that I think even the ’90s notorious grunge couple Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love would be proud.
I think my absolute favorite part about the Winter Game of Fashion is finishing off an amazing outfit with an even more amazing jacket. For a lot of people in the northeast witnessing this abnormally cold winter, wearing a jacket that was heavy duty is key; for the rest of us, choosing a jacket with a little more flare is exciting. This Fashionista has found an adorable, soft sheepskin-like finished jacket to boost her outfit and beat the cold weather.
Last, but certainly not least, this Fashionista is a pro in layering her accessories. A beanie and a statement necklace paired with a daintier necklace really tie together her whole outfit for a win in the Winter Game of Fashion. I am a firm believer that this Fashionista is able to conquer all seasons of fashion and thankfully we can keep up with her on her blog.
One Simple Change: If it isn’t too icy outside with this Arctic Vortex in play, wear a pair of trusty booties with a little height to them. Like my mom always says, “Only a few inches added to your shoes can qualify them as your power heels.”
