WHAT TO WEAR: Winter in the Windy City

Blizzard-proof and chic aren’t what you usually find in the same sentence. As the temperature drop and the snow accumulates, Midwest Fashionistas must sadly admit that we need to start choosing our outfits based on practically not just style. This can often be a challenge to find a happy medium. The temptation to wear a full on snowsuit is becoming stronger by the minute, especially on chilly study days, but this Fashionista has defied all odds and struck the perfect balance between cozy, comfortable, and chic.

Spotted at one of the cutest coffee shops and study spots in Chicago, this Fashionista stood out in her weatherproof yet very stylish ensemble. Her long checkered cardigan serves as a warm outer layer and statement piece. Underneath, her mauve ribbed long sleeve adds another layer of warmth and a trendy splash of color. Even her delicate pearl choker and longer stone necklace are layered!

However, the real kicker are her boots. Finding a pair of winter boots strong enough to repel a Chicago snowstorm, but cute enough to wear in public is a challenge in itself. Pairing these boots into a chic and comfortable outfit is almost unheard of! This Fashionista hit the nail on the head by tucking jeans into her fur lined boots.

The cool color palette of this outfit make it perfect for a cozy day of studying, while the layers keep her warm in the freezing cold. The mixture of textures such as denim, faux fur, and knit keep her looking extra chic. This Fashionista really shows us how to be stylish no matter the occasion or weather. Stay warm out there, Fashionistas/os!
