WHAT TO WEAR: Winter

Winter is here! It is snowing in New York. It is finally time to wear gloves, hats and scarves. It’s finally time to pull out our favorite winter jackets. Our 60-degree weather in winter has decided to decline and it is currently freezing. Layers are an extremely important part during this cold season. Though, as a Fashionista, I personally cannot stand wearing layers. It makes me feel as if my outfit I planned to wear today no longer matters. It will be hiding beneath a scarf and a huge puffed out jacket just to keep me warm. That’s bananas! Instead of wearing puffed out jackets and hiding your look, follow this Fashionista’s steps. Watch how winter will not stand in the way of her looking great!

Her monochromatic ensemble looks chic and warm for this winter day. Let’s start with first layers she put on today. A simple long sleeve black shirt tucked underneath faded black skinny jeans. The important layers we need to truly pay attention to are these next ones. To keep toasty she is wearing a thick long line gray knit sweater. On top she sports a black peacoat. I love that instead of wearing a bulky jacket to face the day, she layers herself with a thick sweater and jacket. To keep a little warmer she’s wearing a black knit hat. Her other two accessories are knee-high black leather boots and a necklace with a feather pendant.

This Fashionista is ready to face this winter day with a stylish, yet warm outfit!

One Simple Change: If today just happens to be girl’s night out, well there is one thing you can do to change this monochromatic outfit. Switch the peacoat for a black leather jacket. You will still be warm, but a bit edgier for the nightlife.
