WHAT TO WEAR: Winter

Winter is normally a time for coats, scarfs, snowmen and hot cocoa, but this season, it has been unusually warm. Although, here in Florida, we can usually expect a warmer winter, we missed the two weeks where we could actually wear a scarf and boots without overheating. Plus, it has been sunny all around the country, meaning that the sunshine state has been extra sunny. We continued to sport our year-round wardrobe of shorts and crop tops, with the occasional swap-out for jeans for a night out on the town when the temperature hit an all time low of 65.

This Fashionista took advantage of the warm weather walking around downtown, in her denim shorts and black crop top. It is casual but totally adorable, and it was perfect for spending the day exploring the waterfront, parks nearby and outdoor market. It might have been an unusual pick for winter, but because of how warm it has been this season, the outfit can be recycled and reused in spring, summer and fall. She was sporting a black cross-body bag to avoid lugging around a heavy tote, and black combat boots, which were folded down into ankle boots.

One famous fashion quote says the following, “sunglasses, like red lipstick, change everything.” This Fashionista definitely proved that to be true, with a classic red lip and a classic cat eye but not just any cat eye. She amped up the accessories with a pair of vintage, metal cat eye sunglasses that kept her safe in the sun and stylish. She rocked both, making the streets of the city her runway, and proving you can be totally glam during the daytime. By keeping the rest of her outfit cool and casual, she really let these take center stage and become the main focus of the outfit.

One Simple Change: To transform this look from day to night, swap the shorts out for dark wash, distressed jeans. For a touch of bling, add a statement necklace and a few bangles. Perfect!
