WHAT TO WEAR: Winter

January 14th, 2015 at 2:00am

Mother Nature has graced Southern Ontario with a multi-day snow squall and many of the students around campus are ill-equipped for the conditions. With strong wind gusts and freezing cold temperatures, it is hard to stay warm and remain fashionable.

This Fashionista hits all the spots: casual, warm and stylish. The Canada Goose parka is long enough that it gives character to the outfit. Rather than a regular scarf, the outfit is completed with a round faux fur neck warmer. This accessory is impermeable to the cold and is compact enough to stash away when you get to a warmer spot (even if you don’t want to because it’s so fabulous!). The rose colored, cable knit sweater keeps the outfit looking feminine and is complemented by nude corduroy skinny pants. The knit sweater and the corduroy pants also add texture to diversify this harmonic ensemble.

What better way to finish off an outfit than with a statement shoe? Blundstone boots are quickly becoming a popular choice on my campus. Their slip-on characteristic allows students to save time when they are in a rush. How cute do they look with a rolled up pair of jeans?

Take notes from this Fashionista, and you are sure to be warm and stylish throughout these numbingly cold winter months!

One Simple Change: If you are on your way to class and want to more comfortable, switch out the skinny jeans with a pair of boyfriend jeansSocks that complement the colors of the sweater can also be added. When the boyfriend jeans are rolled, the socks will show in between the boots and the pants to give the outfit a fun touch.
