WHAT TO WEAR: Winter

Winter weather is finally in full affect. Although the Fashionistas and Fashionistos on the SUNY Oneonta campus have been experiencing much milder winter days. When I say milder, I’m referring to 30-degree days with snow only a few days throughout the week (as opposed to everyday). This comes as a surprise as typical Oneonta weather for wintertime is endless days of snow in freezing temperatures that makes you feel like you’re trapped in a tundra. Thankfully this out of character; milder weather serves as the perfect opportunity to break out our favorite winter styles that under normal winter weather circumstances for upstate New York, may not be as practical. It’s our chance to break out of our standard class uniform  of joggers, UGG boots and parkas to class and show off our true Fashionista/o style.

This Fashionista perfectly coordinated two of the latest popular trends; warm faux furs and over-the-knee boots. This Fashionista made a bold statement while also keeping it simple. The fur of her coat draws in attention, but the cami tank top and medium wash high-waisted jeans dress it down. The tank top and jeans are closet essentials that most of us Fashionistas can find in our own closet. Over-the-knee boots are currently dominating instagram feeds everywhere. This Fashionista is making winter footwear look stylish with these suede boots. Coordinating the boots with high-waisted jeans extends her silhouette.

One Simple Change: To take this look from day to night, simply change out the tank top and switch it up for a mini dress. To stay warm swap out the jeans for tights. For those nights with negative wind chill these fleece lined tights will keep you warm and still styling.
