WHAT TO WEAR: Winter

February 12th, 2016 at 2:00am

The East Coast finally got a taste of the winter season all thanks to winter storm Jonas. Since it’s about that time to start bundling up, this Fashionista is going to show you just how to rock winter apparel. It is getting especially cold and windy here in Pennsylvania, so piling on layers is the way to go.

This Fashionista was spotted on campus rocking tons of layers. She explained why she loves layers so much; “When it’s this cold out, I like to wear layers. When I’m walking to class I know I’ll stay warm, and when I arrive, I can simply take off what I don’t need!”

Her statement piece is this groovy, plaid A-line skirt. As soon as I saw that skirt on her, I immediately thought of the movie Clueless! This style is very reminiscent of the ’90s. Its thick wool material is sure to keep you warm all day long. She threw on a pair of transparent tights and her favorite go-to booties.

As for the top half, she layered a long sleeve cold shoulder top, which is a huge trend to look out for this year, under a sleeveless turtleneck sweater. For the final layer, she just wore a navy peacoat. To accessorize, she rocked a super cute pair of sunglasses and her everyday bracelets and rings.

One Simple Change: Even though this skirt is made of a thick material, the yellow is bright enough to wear this spring. To transition this look from winter to spring, all you need to do is take away the layers and add a textured, neutral colored crop top, and finally ditch the tights…you’ll be good to go!
