WHAT TO WEAR: Weekend Wear

Now who said the religious can’t also be fashionable?

I would like to think of myself as a little more than a semi-regular church goer; however seeing as the mass times are usually early, I never really put my all into outfits (horrible… I know). But when the weather is just right, the breeze is soft and the sunlight is hitting all the right places in your pre-church selfies, you just have to go all out.

There’s a common misconception that we as church goers have very dull and unflattering style, but that’s just NOT the case. Church really tests how you can be modest, with a little bit of pizzaz and still look young yet professional.

And that is how this I came into contact with this church-going CollegeFashionista. I saw her flying around around the Memorial Chapel on UMD’s campus wearing this the über chic and modern cape dress from Kohl’s by AB Studio. Her favorite thing about it? The detachable necklace of course! Then of course we MUST talk accessories, she paired the dress with Tory Burch aviators, a fleek watch from Michael Kors, and lastly a pair of cute two-tone wedge sandals. But by far my favorite aspect of her outfit has to be the Marc Jacobs lippie that she’s sporting. Nude pinks and nude colors in general are so close and dear to my heart, it was love at first sight.

So the next time someone tells you that church-style can’t be cute, just lightly laugh as your strut through the pews…

One Simple Change: Easily exchange the wedge sandals for some black or nude pumps and this is the perfect outfit for interview or a business gathering the next day!
