This Fashionisto is by far one of my favorite people I’ve ever photographed. Besides being incredibly sweet, he is one of the few people I’ve seen on the street and have wanted to wear everything they owned. It is a rare sight to see someone in head-to-toe leather and an even rarer sight to see the combination tailored for a late summer/early fall weather.
While I have my fair share of leather boots, I have yet to acquire a pair of leather pants as magnificent as these. In the past, leather pants were closely associated with biker culture, but leather has made its way into high fashion, notably with leather vests and tunics in the Céline spring 2011 ready-to-wear collection. This Fashionisto’s dedication to the material forces us to focus on the details of each piece, like the buttons and bell shape of the tunic and the narrow cut of the pants. All of the pieces he wears are great investments, especially the top as it can be worn unbuttoned, serving as a vest or more casually with denim.
This Fashionisto is dressed appropriately for a weekend of shopping, meeting with friends, dinner, concerts and whatever else you like to do with your unstructured time. The loose fit of the top keeps the outfit comfortable, despite being incredibly structured and chic, which is perfect for long days on the move. Additionally, his lack of accessories keeps the outfit simple enough to transition from a casual morning to a night out. For just a little embellishment, I would add a turquoise ring or silver bangle.
One Simple Change: For a casual day around campus or running errands, swap out the leather tunic for a white V-neck and some colorful Converse.
