WHAT TO WEAR: Weekend Wear

July 15th, 2015 at 2:00am

“Thank God it’s Friday,” you think at the end of the week! Kick your sandals off, you deserve it; your long week full of deadlines and stress is finally over. In order to take the weekend by storm, it’s crucial to dress with, as always, comfort and class. A weekend with friends, although refreshing, can also result in multiple spontaneous events that you may not be dressed for. When in doubt, it’s important to choose an outfit that can fit any occasion, whether it is a relaxing day at the beach or some guilt-free shopping after lunch with your besties.

This Fashionista isn’t afraid to keep it simple. She throws her hair back, shades on and pairs a plain black tank top with patterned soft shorts. While her outfit is incredibly low maintenance, her shorts add a touch of detail that quickly adds color and personality to her look as a whole, while keeping it comfortable, of course.

After adding a few silver bangles and a small silver necklace, her accessories for the day are covered. When out and about, it can be a hassle to wear too much jewelry with the risk of it getting in the way or potentially weighing you down in the heat. She is also not reluctant to sport her suede Birkenstock sandals, as they are the token shoes for comfort and are incredibly multifaceted.

In case of a slight change of weather on her outing, she tops her look off with a lightweight black knitted cardigan, just in case. Even if it is not needed, it’s an item that is easy to throw in a purse for emergencies.

One Simple Change: Ditch the Birkenstocks in exchange for strappy wedges, add some chunky jewelry and you’ll be all set for a #RAD date night! Versatility is key, Fashionistas!

Hello, I’m Audrey! I attend Syracuse University in upstate New York, but was born and raised in the San Francisco, California Bay Area. My first year away from home was a tough one, but I learned so much about myself and I can’t wait to be back on campus in the fall! My style consists of funky statement pieces, an array of neutral colors, a perfect combination of jewelry and always a swipe of colorful lipstick. My favorite stores include ASOS, Urban Outfitters, Top Shop and Free People, but I rely heavily on thrift stores to help finish off an incomplete outfit. You can most likely find me on a hike, in the local coffee shop, online shopping, or eating my way through the Bay Area. Style on!
