WHAT TO WEAR: Weekend Wear

After spending six weeks abroad in Peru, this international Fashionista is back in the States and taking ‘merica by storm—just in time for Fourth of July weekend. For most Minnesotans, the red, white and blue holiday turns out to be a weekend at the lake with friends in tow. This Fashionista is dressed perfectly for whatever patriotic festivities she has planned.

For her weekend look she paired a blue, watercolor-esque tank from Apricot Lane Boutique with a pair of flowy black shorts from Urban Outfitters. From a distance, the loose cut of the shorts give the illusion of a skirt. Over top, she is wearing a white kimono from Band of Gypsies. Light layers is definitely the way to go for summer, keeping you cool and versatile when the weather decides to mix it up.

To complete the outfit, she stacked on a few statement rings and bracelets. The layered jewelry combo included a map print watch from Amazon, a golden arrow bracelet from Stella and Dot and a white bangle from Old Navy. The combination is interesting without being overwhelming. For shoes and a bag she kept it neutral with a pair of leather wedges and a leather tote to match.

The look is perfect for a mid-morning brunch with friends, day of shopping or spending time with relatives for the holiday weekend. I love how confident and summery she looks. The colors are crisp and fun, especially the white and blue combo.

One Simple Change: To go from day to night in this look, take off the kimono and swap the oversized tote for a small cross body bag and you are set for dinner or a night out.
