WHAT TO WEAR: Weekend Wear

Although summer weeks may be filled with a lot to do, the weekends should be the time to play. Weekends in the summer may be some of the best weekends of the year. Depending on where you are located, you may have nice weather all year round, but where I’m from we definitely have all four seasons of weather! So weekends are especially nicer in the summer in Iowa!
This Fashionista is wearing one of my favorite items possible, a kimono. Kimonos started becoming really popular last summer and is still going strong this summer. It makes total sense—they are breezy, have the perfect amount of material for warmer weather and a lot of them have super fun patterns. This kimono has the patterns and fringe to make it that much more fun. I especially love that the fringe is black because it make the whole kimono stand out!
This Fashionista picked the perfect basics to pair with this kimono! Pairing a crop top with a kimono is one of my favorite styles. Crop tops are a huge summer look, especially paired with high-waisted shorts. For accessories, this Fashionista went neutral and wore black slip-on sandal and a mini kate spade cross-body purse. She really did a great job with pairing the colors in this outfit! Using black as the base color really made the colors and pattern on the kimono pop.
One Simple Change: Have a hot date on the weekend? Switch the crop top and high-waisted shorts out for a casual, short black dress. The color still works great with the kimono and sandals. Also, a little black dress is always the perfect thing to have in your closet!
