WHAT TO WEAR: Weekend Wear

April 24th, 2015 at 2:10am

If there’s one thing we have always looked forward to for the majority of our lives, it’s the weekend. We spend the majority of our week hoping that the weekend will somehow come faster, and when Friday finally arrives, we suddenly have the motivation and energy to take on the world. I mean, we even established the famous hashtag TGIF, so you can’t pretend like you haven’t used it on your Instagram pics because you know you have!

With the weekend comes along the fun activities, the opportunity to finally getting rid of all of that stress that’s been taunting you and maybe even a chance to forget about that research paper that’s due. And we always tell ourselves (or lie) that we will get it done, eventually. But one thing’s for sure, your weekend attire needs to be, well, fuera de este mundo! In other words, it needs to be out of this world.

This Fashionista knows exactly what I mean. Bringing along vintage for the ride with her unique top, she brings a different element onto the mix. With its cool patterns, shapes and colors, she defeats the cliché floral wear and makes her own statement; I don’t know about you, but I think Miranda Priestly would be proud! Her vintage top is oversized, which allows her to have an easy flowing factor. It also allows her the ability to style it up as a dress if she wanted to. If you can style something in more ways than one it’s a winner.

Other alternatives to an oversized top is to fully tuck it in or to do a half-tuck, which means you only tuck in part of your shirt so that you can show off the other small details in the rest of your outfit. To finish off her look, she adds a floppy hat, which elevates her ensemble, and she wears pointed sandals to achieve a dressier vibe.

I know what you’re thinking—you’re in need of your own vintage piece. So go on and find one, and make sure you wear it fabulously like this Fashionisat did!

One Simple Change: Going to class? Pair up the top with some high-waisted jeans and a pair of sneakers.
