WHAT TO WEAR: Weekend Wear

With President’s Day on Monday, I had the opportunity to escape the madness of Boston for a weekend. I feel like week after week we keep getting snowed in and I have barely had the opportunity to go to school and I meet my peers. Thankfully, my holiday getaway in Miami helped me warm up from the crazy East Coast cold. Even though I am not the biggest fan of hot weather, I have to admit that not having the cold wind burning your face for a change felt pretty amazing. Plus, it also helped me up my tanning game.

The great thing about warm weather is that all your outfits are completely visible, instead of hidden under a jacket. So you have the opportunity to invest in different pieces that grab people’s attention. When I spotted this Fashionista, I fell in love with the way she put her outfit together. To my surprise, when I approached her, she was also running away from Boston’s snowstorms and she is also a part of the CollegeFashionista team. No wonder her outfit caught my attention!

Due to the burning hot weather, this Fashionista decided she would a match a beautiful white skirt with a striped button-up. Skirts always add a girly touch to every outfit, so it’s always a good choice. To spice things up a bit, instead of going for a usual shirt, she picked a larger one. That gave her outfit a slouchy feel. Both pieces are very breezy and therefore are a great option for the occasion. For shoes, she picked high heeled sandals, adding a dressy touch to everything. She did a good job creating a girl outfit with a different touch to it.

One Simple Change: Looking to wear something more comfy for a more casual occasion? Drop the heels and slip on espadrilles and you will be good to go!
