Thank God it’s Thursday! Hopefully you know what Thursday means, because otherwise that play on words was totally pointless. If you didn’t catch my drift, Thursday means only one endless day away from the well-awaited weekend. Weekends are definitively the best, because it is the one time when it’s rendered socially acceptable to sit around until 3 p.m. eating Cocoa Puffs in front of the TV in your pajamas. For those of you who enjoy playing dress up, this week’s Fashionista has a sweet treat in store for your fashion taste buds.
This past weekend, I visited a vineyard in Virginia, and was absolutely delighted by the delectable dessert wines that were available for tasting (I’m not really a wine person, so excuse my over enthusiasm). If there’s one thing about vineyards that you should be prepared for, it’s that everyone arrives looking dapper. This Fashionista sported a floral high-waisted skirt, a solid white V-neck and a sea green statement necklace. The floral skirt is a sweet summer essential and is perfect for any kind of gallivanting you might be in for over the weekend because of its light airy material and liberating cut. The white V-neck is a great basic for this ensemble because not only is it an easy match, but it throws attention onto the floral pattern on the skirt and the intricate statement necklace.
To top off the outfit, this Fashionista wore a pair of aviator sunglasses and a pair of black sandals. Flat shoes are perfect for running around, and the pretty detailing on these sandals make them feminine and perfect for a prim outing to the vineyard. In addition, one essential you need for a sunny weekend out is a pair of sunglasses, not only to protect your eyes from the sun’s harmful rays, but also to strut the streets (or vineyards) in style.
One Simple Change: Floral is such a versatile and current pattern that it makes a cute outfit for many occasions. This look can most definitely be worn for a class or work presentation; all you need to do is throw a blazer over your V-neck and call it a day.
