By this point in the semester, most of us are well into our studies and have shifted our focus from “I don’t have school tomorrow” to “here come’s an all-nighter to finish my homework”. Personally, I think it’s important to keep an appropriate school-life balance, not only to stay sane but to also steer away from becoming socially awkward.
The weekend is prime time to do so, and the perfect opportunity to take away some of those in-school blues. Depending on how you choose to spend your weekend, whether it be a small getaway, hanging out with friends, shopping or plenty of other options, there are many ways in which you experience with your outfit. While most of us enjoy a weekend curled up in our apartment in sweatpants and t-shirts, it’s not the norm of our generation, at least for us fashionista’s/o’s.
It was hard not to notice this Fashionista on a recent walk through Central Park on a cloudy Saturday afternoon in New York City. My favorite part about her outfit choice was the bright pops of red under her leather bomber and her crossbody bag. The color blocking gives emphasis on not trying too hard but allows the red to sneak through as a sign of fun and freedom for the weekend. The weekend is prime time to draw the line between work and play, so instead of throwing on your casual pea coat to stay warm, take notion at this fashionista’s choice of a trendy leather bomber to keep the cold away. Make it a challenge for yourself to adopt new and fun ways to reinvent your weekend wardrobe.
ONE SIMPLE CHANGE: This Fashionista’s outfit choice shows how it’s easy to transition from day to night. Take off the boots, throw on a pair of winter appropriate pumps and you’re ready for a fun Saturday night out.
