WHAT TO WEAR: Weekend Wear

July 20th, 2016 at 2:00am

What are the three most anticipated days of the week? Friday, Saturday and Sunday (or better known as the weekend!) These two days and a half are a time to relax and clear your mind from a hectic week of summer classes or an intense work schedule.

Scenario: you’re spending the whole day out with your best friends. You guys plan on going to brunch, bike riding along the beach, hitting the sand to watch the sunset and finally end the night with a trendy dinner at the new taco place in town. First thing that comes to mind is, “I am not going to be home all day. I need an outfit that will last me throughout all of these fun events.”

First, you need clothes that are comfortable, yet heat appropriate. Shorts and a T-shirt are the easiest things to thrown on. It is super trendy and incredibly comfortable; it is a summer staple. However, you’re going to be on the beach in the late afternoon and you know how breezy it gets. So, you tie a button-up shirt around your waist. This is functional and totally in-style: it’s a win-win. Next step is footwear. For a long day of walking, throw on your comfortable workout shoes. Sneakers are the perfect year-round shoe that are practical. They add a little “athletic flare” to causal outfits. A purse is a girl’s holy grail accessory, especially during a long day. It will hold your wallet, make up and any other essentials you need to conquer the day. A cross-body bag is the best choice for a day like this where you will be active. Add on your favorite bracelets and you’re ready to take on the day!

One Simple Change: Delaying dinner for a bit for some sunset yoga on the beach (yes please.) But first, switch out those shorts for some black workout pants and you’ll be ready for some exercise. Namaste.

Greetings fellow fashion fanatics! My name is Kaitlyn Corp and I am currently a sophomore at Florida International University majoring in Marketing and International Business. From a young age, I always knew I would end up in fashion, but little did I know I’d pursue the business side of it. My style, in my own words, would be described as “very Miami with a touch of European flair. This perfectly white blouse adds an elegant look to the outfit, while the shorts give it a casual look. Both of these pieces are from Zara. My red statement mini bag from Rebecca Minkoff has been my go to purse for the past few years. It is a bold accessory to even the most boring outfit. Espadrilles and sandals are the perfect summer shoes (aka the only season in Miami) so, when I saw these Soludos, I just had to pick them up. They are the perfect shoe to throw on with jean shorts and a white v neck or can be a subtle touch to the daintiest sun dress. All of my jewelry is from Alex and Ani. These were all gifts to me, so they bring back great memories while trying the whole outfit together. Style is what you make out of it. It does not matter what you wear, as long as you own it and feel confident. Let your creativity show through these beautiful garments. Follow me through this trendy summer and let’s make it the RADDEST one yet!
