WHAT TO WEAR: Weekend Wear

June 27th, 2016 at 2:00am

Weekends are meant for sleeping late, brunch, comfortable clothes and to be honest, all things lazy. An ideal weekend outfit is one that you can roll out of bed and throw on, while still feeling like you’re relaxing in your PJ’s.

What could be a better weekend staple than a comfortable sweatshirt that warns passersby by that you will more than likely be grumpy until you’ve started your day correctly? Graphic sweatshirts started taking off last fall, and they’re definitely here to stay for a while. Stylecaster.com states, “once strictly for athletes, gym-goers, and errand-runners, the humble sweatshirt has risen to become such a stylish staple.” This cool girl look is comfortable, convenient and fashionable all the same.

So, after choosing the perfect graphic sweatshirt, the challenge becomes how to style it. This Fashionista chose a simple, black pair of yoga pants and white Converse Chuck Taylor sneakers. She then accessorized with a red headband, clubmaster style sunglasses and an oversized tote bag.

The way that she constructed her look made it perfect for a laid back weekend. With summer weather in New England being just as temperamental as any other season, it could be 60 degrees before brunch and 80 by the time you’re done. That said, layering is a must as always. Wear a cute tank top under your graphic sweatshirt and you’re ready for anything!

One Simple Change: Take this look from weekend wear to a girl’s night out by simply swapping yoga pants for a skirt. By experimenting with color, style and more, you can create a rad look for a night out with your Guru Gang!
