WHAT TO WEAR: Vacation

Stop what you’re doing. Take a deep breath. Finals are almost over, I promise, which can only mean one thing: summer vacation is just around the corner. It’s time for us to trade in our Nike shorts and sweatshirts for board shorts and bikinis. It’s time to stop hitting the books and hit the beach!

Just like for every occasion in life, summer vacation is an opportunity for fashion. As we slip into relaxation mode, we should also slip into some laid back summer styles. However, just because we want to feel like a beach bum doesn’t mean we have to look like one.

Comfort is key, and for most guys it’s probably the number one priority, but this Fashionisto proves you don’t have to sacrifice cute for comfort. He does an awesome job emulating that beachy, carefree style without looking like a slob.

This Fashionisto is wearing some classic aviator-style Ray-Ban sunglasses, a faded, salmon-colored T-shirt, navy shorts and a pair of OluKai flip flops. The color of this T-shirt will really make your tan pop and the faded look and thin material makes it more casual and breathable, perfect for staying cool in the summer heat.

The navy shorts are a great alternative to the traditional khaki that we are so used to seeing. Switch it up by choosing a colored pant instead; they are great for this sunny season and can dress up any usually drab outfit.

Lastly, the Ray-Ban sunglasses give the ensemble a classy finish and protect your eyes from the harsh rays. Plus they just make you look really cool.

One Simple Change: After a day at the beach it’s time to grab some dinner. To take this look from day to night, simply swap out the shorts for some khaki pants and change the flip flops to loafers. Or, if you are going for a more formal look, throw on a button-down.
