WHAT TO WEAR: Vacation

Summer break is in full swing, which means it’s time for beach days and vacations galore. My favorite part about summer is all the time that we have to go exploring and try out different activities. Summer allows for a wide realm of fashion options because of the various occasions that you may need to dress for. Many people tend to just stick with a plain T-shirt and shorts, but summer is a great time to bring out fun cover ups, button-downs and accessories to add a little extra “oomph” to an outfit. Summer is also the prime time for vacationing, especially in tropical and beach climates. This is a Fashionisto who’s outfit added a beachy vibe to an otherwise simplistic outfit.

This Fashionisto created a comfortable, casual look by pairing a simple tank top with a pair of comfortable cargo shorts. Adding a short sleeve button-down in a light chambray color adds a beachy vibe to the simplistic look. This short sleeve button-down is a great staple piece for any Fashionisto’s closet because it is a versatile and lightweight article that will help keep your shoulders covered from the harsh sun rays. It can be dressed up or down and can be paired with both simplistic and patterned outfits. This outfit is finished off with a pair of Nike sneakers that are comfortable enough to walk around in all day when exploring other areas on vacation. What’s important to realize when dressing for a vacation is that you want to be comfortable but still look stylish for the many pictures that you’ll be taking to document your trip. Keep this in mind while packing because even one simple button-down or jacket can make an outfit much more interesting.

One Simple Change: Need to dress up for a nice dinner or a date with a vacation romance? Just button the button-down and switch out the bottoms with a pair of chino pants and some dress shoes to create a pulled-together look that is still casual and perfect for a nice occasion while on vacation.
