WHAT TO WEAR: Vacation

I have definitely gotten the travel bug. Growing up, I was fortunate enough to travel to different states in the U.S. My parents wanted my siblings and I to experience the world and explore our surroundings. I’ve ridden a fan-powered boat on a river in Indiana, parasailed in Hawaii and even served the less fortunate in the Bahamas. Seeing different parts of the world has shown me that there is more outside of the Orange County bubble.

This past week, I ventured into the ninth circle of hell—Phoenix, Arizona. Why my church had a conference in the desert in the middle of July, I do not know. It forced me to choose my outfits very wisely. However, I really admired those who put a good amount of effort into their outfits in spite of the heat.

This dude was clearly prepared for the heat. He rocked a patterned button-up that looked as if a painting had been thrown at it. The fun print worked with his striped Vans that donned the same colors. To stay cool in the heat, he wore denim cut-offs. Completing his look, he worked a pair of black frames and a nose ring. His long dreadlocks were pulled into a ponytail, giving him an effortlessly cool look. This guy is ready to hit the town and stay cool.

One Simple Change: Going on a date with a cute girl later in the night? Exchange your denim shorts for tan pants and enjoy your evening!
