WHAT TO WEAR: Traveling

What to Wear

With the stress of endless classes and caffeine cravings becoming a distant memory (finally!), the time has come to get in some much deserved R&R and enjoy the festivities that come with this exciting time of year. For most of us, reuniting with loved ones over the winter break means endless airport lines/car rides upstate and the dreaded challenge of styling multiple outfits out of the same, oh so tiny suitcase. When traveling over the Christmas holidays, fear no more, for the simplicity of living out of a suitcase might just provide you with the sartorial salvation you’ve been looking for all along.

Scouring for last-minute deals downtown, I spotted this daring Fashionista dressed impeccably in an ensemble she mentioned was inspired by none other than the amazing Chanel Dallas fashion show. For looks appropriate for all ranges of festivities, take a couple pointers from this Fashionista and pack a high-waisted skirt in an interesting fabric. Other than pairing ideally with nearly anything in your closet, this piece is oh so perfect for evening parties and afternoons spent catching up with your loved ones. Pay homage to Karl Lagerfeld with the addition of a western inspired denim vest. Not only will such a piece add a little texture to all your looks, but also bring a little pop of color to those gray and dreary winter days! In terms of footwear, as this Fashionista goes to show, the key item necessary to survive all holiday parties is a pair of classic platform ankle boots. With all of these pieces in your suitcase this season, dressing from a selection of your wardrobe won’t be a drag at all!

One Simple Change: For a more casual event, such as brunch, ditch the platforms and skirt and opt for a relaxed T-shirt dress and strappy flats instead.
