As the summer months are quickly approaching, the buzz around campus is all about vacation and travel plans. Tropical getaways, amusement parks, beaches, boardwalks and resorts are amongst the most popular. Now I absolutely hate packing for vacations but any Fashionista will tell you that a stylish and versatile outfit is necessary for traveling plans. Whenever we see celebrities traveling about they always have simple outfits with minimal frills and accessories. The simpler, the better in this case. No matter if you are hopping on an airplane or sitting in a car you want to be comfortable and ready for anything.
This Fashionista truly is ready to head to her vacation getaway. Maxi dresses are the new hot style of dress this season. This specific type of dress really can be used for any occasion. A maxi dress can be dressed up or down and is versatile enough for day or night use. This specific dress truly pops with the lace embellishment on the top. Personally I find maxi dresses to be the most comfortable type of clothing out there. Who doesn’t want to be completely comfortable when they are traveling around the world?
Always be sure to dress in layers when traveling. Airports, airplanes, waiting rooms and the like can be very chilly or sometimes scalding hot. By dressing in layers and bringing along a thin cardigan or sweatshirt you are sure to be happy with whatever temperature it is. Every Fashionista must be prepared for any type of situation.
Another great tip for traveling attire is to wear flats. Normally when going through airport security I prefer to wear flats with a thin sock, so when you are required to remove your shoes you are not walking barefoot around the airport. The same can go for trains, buses and even cars. Always wear shoes that are not going to give you blisters or hurt by the end of the day.
The best way to accessorize when traveling is to keep it simple. Wearing too much jewelry will just make you feel bulky. People sleep when traveling, they are required to wait for hours on end and they have to carry their bags around. No one wants long necklaces and tons of bangles to get in the way when doing these things. Therefore this Fashionista has kept it simple and added a diamond-inspired square earring to her ensemble. These earrings are elegant and simple but still make a loud statement with the outfit.
The basic idea for traveling is to make life easier but still stylish. At the end of the day comfort is key. You have plenty of days on vacation to put together intricate outfits with heels and bangles, however for your few days of traveling, take the advice to keep it basic.
One Simple Change: Add a strap sandal and a straw beach hat and this Fashionista is all set for a brunch on the beach.
