WHAT TO WEAR: Traveling

The first day of classes is right around the corner, and with it comes the excitement and chaos of move-in day. Going to school in New York City means students come from all corners of the world. It’s definitely important to be comfortable, but that doesn’t mean you have to wear sweats. Move-in day is a social event, and it’s great to wear an outfit that is cute and first impression worthy. Everyone’s going to want to mingle and go out, and it’s great to feel confident and happy for those move-in selfies. There’re tons of ways to keep it classy and cool at the airport without feeling unpleasant.

This Fashionista goes for the classic look with a white tank top and jeans. This look is casual and relaxed but still put together and refined. By choosing a simple look, this Fashionista is able to accessorize the look to be dressed up or down. She adds a pair of perforated leather black flats for comfort. The beaded anklet adds a bit of flair as well as introducing a pop of color into the outfit. She sophisticates the look by pairing it with a beige 3.1 Phillip Lim blazer.

One Simple Change: Change the jeans for a looser pant option such as denim culottes or lounge style pants. Looser pants are great for longer flights where jeans may be constricting and for when more freedom of movement is desired. It’s great to have looser pants when doing any sort of heavy lifting, whether it’s suitcases or cardboard boxes.
