WHAT TO WEAR: Traveling

Welcome back to campus my fellow Fashionistas/os. The streets of Columbia have missed your fabulous frocks and tremendous trendiness. The Fashionistas/os of the world are what makes this campus shine, and what compels me to get out of bed each morning and change out of my pajamas before class. I know as well as anyone that that is the most challenging part of the day, considering sweat pants and T-shirts are the clothing of choice for the majority of college students. However, it’s a new semester, and your campus style can be added to your long list of New Year’s Resolutions because my motto has always been, “Dress well, to test well.” To me, there is no better way to start the day than getting that A and a compliment on your outfit.

This motto at heart, what better way to start your new year than on the plane ride back to school? I spotted this Fashionista at the airport headed back to USC. She really took airport chic to a new level. Not only was she layering comfortable fabrics, prepared for a long day of travel, but she was also incredibly stylish. Layering a trendy plaid skirt over tights and cowboy boots, she created a fun, rocker-inspired look that was complemented perfectly with the oversized skull sweater. Finishing the look off with a hat was the cherry on top for me. Combining all those fashion risks, and looking absolutely fabulous while traveling, convinced me that she needed a spot on CollegeFashionista. Next time I step on a plane, I will make sure to take clothing advice from this style stunner and start my trip off looking just as fantastic as I plan on looking throughout the visit.

One simple change: Switch the sweater for a simple black shirt and the backpack for a purse, and you’re ready for a night out in a new town; no extra packing required.
