As a girl whose parents never tortured her with family road trips lasting more than 6 hours, I can honestly say that I love traveling and hold no negative memories of it at all. Airports, road trips, truck stops, airplane food—I love it all. The idea of road tripping with friends isn’t jaded by the ugly reality that it’s cramped and uncomfortable, but instead all I think about with pure excitement is that it is, in my opinion, exactly what every 20something should be doing with their best friends, probably listening to some Tegan and Sara song along the way. Another part of traveling that has recently become such a huge trend is travel style and this Fashionista is a perfect example of travel style done right.
Traveling isn’t the time to get all done up or to be wearing your most lethal stilettos, but instead comfortable jeans and sweaters with stylish accents is the way to go. This Fashionista accents her look with cat eye sunnies, which also disguise a healthy no-makeup look for a long day of traveling if she so chooses, airport approved easy on and off flats and a cheetah print bag big enough to carry all the travel essentials like snacks and magazines. This look works well because she’s comfortable and warm in her sweater and jeans and still looks stylish and put together because of her great accessories. This look is simple to do, because you probably own most of these items already. All that’s left to do is find a fun pair of sunglasses and a printed bag and you’re ready to hit the road!
One Simple Change: This look is so versatile, as I can just as easily see this being worn at an airport as I can shopping around the North and Clybourn stop on a Saturday (good shopping over there, you should go). To make this outfit out-with-friends appropriate, all that’s needed is a new top. My go-to shop for cute tops is Francesca’s Collections, but you can find tops like this almost anywhere.
